Zipper Rule

Cutting rules from Japanese steel rule manufacturer TSUKATANI has been a leader in terms of quality since 1951. These are achieved through specially developed grinding processes, compliance with very tight tolerances and the use of best Japanese steel.

Zipper Rules are used for tear strips on packages. There are three standard versions (A, B and C) and a symmetrical two-way alternative that eliminates the need for left and right versions.

Zipper Rule

  • Applications: used to create a tear strip on cartons to access the product
  • Manufactured with accurate pitches, constant slit depth and clean edges to avoid any “drag”
  • Standard types A,B & C are used in a left and right hand combination
  • Two way alternative eliminates the need of left and right versions

  • Thickness: 2pt (0.71mm) | 3pt (1.05mm)
  • Height: up to 23,8 mm
  • Hardened cutting edge = longer service life
  • Polished Edge = Less Angel Hair and Dusting
  • Decarburized body surface = High flexibility

Degree of hardness

  • Body hardness: 345 HV / 35.5 HRC
  • Cutting edge hardness: 620 HV / 56.3 HRC
